Winch Family - Lola Emily Winch - Page 2

Lola  May Page was born the youngest of five children on January 14, 1927 in Fresno, California to parents Emilly and Cecil Winch. Lola is the descendant of grandparents who came to the United States on a boat from Sweden.  [Omitted living persons] Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were Lola's great joy. Lola graduated from Fresno High School. She went to work for a couple newspapers in their editorial offices where Lola would develop a great love for writing. Receiving letters in the mail from "Grammy," as she was called by her grandchildren, was always an exciting experience for her grandchildren. Lola also worked at Arthur's Toy Store in Fresno before she retired. Her grandchildren thought they cound have any toy they wanted because Grammy worked at a toy store. Lola was known for her love of the 3Gs- golf, gardening, and grandchildren. There were few people who could hit a golf ball straighter, keep their grass greener, or love her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren greater that Grammy.
