Winch Family - Cecil Erwin Winch - Ukiah California 1960's

I am thinking that this picture was taken in the 1940' or 1950's. At that time he was in different areas including Oregon and Northern California.

I don't remember much about Ukiah except that it smelled like rotten eggs because of the thermal activity underground. We stayed in a motel maybe for 2 nights and visited with Cecil the one day that we saw him. I don't think my mother had ever met Cecil before this visit. I am pretty certain that I hadn't either.

These pictures were "panoramic" in the sense that if you put them together you would see the whole structure.

Cecil had one chair in the house that my mom sat it. Cecil got me a wooden crate to sit on. He and my Dad talked most of the time we were there.

It looks like from the pictures that he had just arrived home as both doors of the car - I think it was a Falcon - were left open. I do know that he homesteaded some land in Oregon. I will have to look at the probate records and newspaper clippings that I have in his file. I really don't remember much more,

Winch Family - Cecil Erwin Winch - Logging Camp

I found these pictures in my Mother's photo album. Nothing more is noted than what is transcribed here.

This is Cecil and Wiggles, his dog. The quote with this picture reads: Us in Ukiah. Just after we got back from Florida.

The camp in the Redwoods. The creek runs under my feet. Wiggles is on the woodpile, under my shirt.

Jarl Family Tree

This is what I found and documented from various sources regarding the Jarls in America.

I have more documents to post and more persons to add after verification.
